.

I qualified as a farrier in 2006 after a four year apprenticeship and passing the Worshipful Company of Farriers Dip.WCF examination. I then travelled overseas to further my farriery experience before returning to England in 2008 to start my own farriery practice based in Brewood, Staffordshire. Since this time I have undertook a range of CPD(Continual Professional Development) studies to further my farriery knowledge and provide the best possible service to both horse and owner.

I have a great interest in corrective farriery which led to me taking the Myerscough College foundation degree in farriery science which is a new, innovative course aimed at assesment of my current farriery experience and knowledge along with new diagnostic technology to assess the balance of the horse's foot.

At the end of this course I took the Worshipful Company of Farriers AWCF examination which is an exam aimed at corrective farriery. A comprehensive knowledge of the horse's anatomy and remedial farriery is required.

I then undertook the BSc (Hons) course to further my knowledge and expertise. During this time I wrote a dissertation on static and dynamic asymmetry in unbroken horses. Assessing the effects at pre and post trim. The practical exam involved applying a patton bar shoe to a foot. I passed this exam with first class honors and awarded the Myerscough trophy for outstanding practical and theory grades.

I constantly engage in continual professional development and learn new techniques.
